Poznan
There is no way to not love Poznan. Everyone who once came here, starts studying, learn monuments, taste Poznan lifestyle, cuisine, vernacular, will be under the spell of the city. Because Poznan, the cultural and economic capital of the Grater Poland is the dream city for resourceful, active, full of passion, and wanting to life intensively people. Beautiful and full of greenery magnetize both students and tourists.
Poznan is a very strong academic centre. State and public schools offer enormously wide range of fields of study in full-time (daily), part-time system (extramural and evening studies). Poznan schools make it possible to study virtually every type of study: technical, economic, medical, artistic, humanistic, social, law and administrative, philology, tourism and sport, biological, environmental studies etc.
Schools with the longest traditions are: Adam Mickiewicz University, ThePoznań University of Economics, Poznan University of Medical Sciences, TheUniversity of Life Sciences in Poznań, Poznań University of Technology, The Academy of Physical Education, University of Arts, and the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music. Apart from state schools there are 20 public colleges with wide offer of education of almost every type. Poznan is famous for developing students’ enterprise. Technology parks and business incubators that are in city support students in their first steps in business.
Capital of the Greater Poland is famous for historic Old Town with perfectly renovated townhouses, numerous restaurants, cafes, nosheries where the social life flourishes into small hours. Doing sightseeing students and tourists shouldn’t omit such places like: the Town Hall, Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Mary Magdalene in Poznan (called also Poznań fara) Ostrów Tumski("Cathedral Island"), or the Imperial Castle. Around the city there is the so-called Pierścień Rowerowy Dookoła Poznania, the rail trail around the city, which 7 rail trails meet with the city center.
A great prestige has the international theater festival of Malta, which attracts representatives from many countries of the world. On the Malta Regatta Course the World Cup, European and World Championship in rowing and canoeing are held recurrently. Poznan is also famous for, being noised abroad by media, the Poznań International Fair. Stary Browar is an interesting shopping, art and business centre. It was found one of the most beautiful shopping centres in the world by ICSC.
Poznan has got an international airport Ławica. On this territory there is also a military airport Poznan-Krzesiny, where F16 fighters station. Near Poznan there are two sport airdromes. The young and students like very much spend their free time in places like: Malta, Botanical Garden, the new zoo, Wilson park, Sołacki park, Citadel, Morasko, and in numerous nosheries, pubs, music clubs, cafes, or discoes.
