The Collegium Polonicum - a unique institution in Europe
The Collegium Polonicum is an academic centre established by the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (AMU) and the European University Viadrina (EUV) in Frankfurt/Oder. As a unique institution in Europe it has enjoyed vibrant academic and student life for the last 20 years, fitting in perfectly with the aims and objects of both universities.
The excellent conditions provided for conducting scientific research and educational activities, as well as the opening of the border between Poland and Germany have set new, important tasks and challenges for the Collegium Polonicum. It has developed from a cross-border institution into a European institute. It educates specialists to work across a wide spectrum of society, especially science, culture and the European economy and it prepares its students to work in the competitive global jobs’ market.
The Collegium also offers many continuing education programmes, new post-graduate courses and training courses organised by the Collegium Polonicum Foundation, which provide citizens region-wide opportunities for lifelong learning. The Collegium is also engaged in the provision of information, publications and cultural activities.
Studies
The Collegium Polonicum provides over 1500 students with opportunities to undertake various degree programmes at bachelor and master’s level. Students are able to study full-time and part-time subjects in sciences and the humanities. Many programmes are either joint Polish-German courses or focus on Polish-German issues in a European context, and their graduates receive a Polish-German double diploma.

Student Halls of Residence
The students at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań at Collegium Polonicum in Słubice and students of the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder are eligible to apply for accommodation in the student Halls of Residence in Słubice. The Campus consists of six halls: Amicus, Iuventa, Gaudium, Arcadia, Sapientia and Forum, and it offers over 1200 places in single and double rooms. The student halls of residence not only provide comfortable accommodation complying with European standards, but also function as a place of cultural interchange and offer socializing opportunities. In addition, they also promoteattitudes of tolerance, understanding and curiosity about other cultures.

The Collegium Polonicum as a conference venue
The Collegium Polonicum offers excellent facilities for holding congresses, symposia, conventions and seminars for small discussion groups. It is the most modern conference venue in the Polish cross-border region. The rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual and computer devices, as well as facilities for simultaneous interpretation. It is also possible to hold international video conferences.
