Transmedia arts

The Transmedia Arts program offers a comprehensive education in contemporary art, emphasizing interdisciplinary, experimental, and research-driven creative practices. It combines traditional visual disciplines—such as drawing, photography, installation, and spatial arts—with digital and interactive media, including video, sound art, animation, game design, and generative or algorithmic systems. Students are trained to produce works that go beyond the limits of a single medium, developing hybrid, multi-sensory, and immersive narratives.

The Transmedia Arts program is designed for students who are passionate about contemporary art and digital media, and who want to explore the intersections of traditional visual practices with interactive and digital technologies. It suits those interested in interdisciplinary, experimental, and research-based creative work, including hybrid, immersive, and multi-sensory storytelling. Ideal candidates are curious, open to innovation, eager to develop critical thinking, and motivated to work as independent artists, media creators, curators, or researchers within the evolving field of visual and digital culture.

The curriculum focuses on the conceptual foundations of artistic creation, fostering critical thinking and investigating the connections between art, technology, perception, and culture. It also incorporates aspects of media theory, philosophy of technology, and artistic research. Students develop skills across both physical and digital media, equipping them to work as independent artists, media practitioners, curators, and researchers in the evolving landscape of visual and digital culture.

Subjects considered during qualification:

• Polish language,
• foreign language.

The admission process for first-degree studies includes the evaluation of artistic aptitude and English language proficiency:

• digital portfolio review (minimum of 10 works), including photography, video, animation, concept art, interface, game, or app design; sumitted as a PDF file with static visuals and optional hyperlinks to dynamic content
• online practical exam – a three-hour creative task assessing audiovisual creation and story-telling skills using photographic and video formats.
• online interview – evaluating general knowledge of contemporary art and culture, as well as the alignment of the candidate’s interests with the program’s profile.

Graduates of the undergraduate program are equipped to work with a broad spectrum of visual and digital media, integrating both traditional and contemporary techniques in interdisciplinary art and design projects. They have a solid understanding of narrative structure, interactivity, and immersive experiences, and are able to engage in cultural and artistic initiatives in collaboration with institutions, studios, and the creative industries. They are prepared to contribute effectively to collaborative creative endeavors.
