Mining engineering
Students of Mining Engineering develop a broad understanding of mining through lectures, classroom-based and project work, laboratory sessions, and numerous technical visits to mining facilities, industry companies, and research centres. Graduates are equipped to make well-informed decisions when carrying out engineering, organisational, and managerial tasks, produce concise technical reports and introductory scientific papers, and prepare key components of mining documentation. They can assess and classify solid mineral deposits, independently select appropriate methods for accessing, developing, and extracting these resources, and account for potential geological and technical hazards as well as supporting operations.
The second-level programme also provides a solid foundation for further academic development at doctoral level.
