Aquamatics - interdisciplinary water environment management

The Aquamatics - interdisciplinary water environment management program is a Master’s degree dedicated to sustainable and integrated management of water environments. The curriculum responds to the increasing global demand for specialists who understand the complex interactions between the ecological, technical, social, and economic dimensions of water systems.

The programe combines knowledge from environmental sciences, hydrology, aquatic ecology, civil and environmental engineering.

This program is designed for individuals with an engineering mindset who want their work to address important challenges of the modern world.

The program addresses topics such as introducing principles of rational water resource management, sustainable management of water-related environments, protection of aquatic habitats, and the development of water ecosystems in urban areas that are friendly to society, known as blue-green infrastructure.

To gain professional knowledge in the field of water systems, a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, as well as meteorology and climatology, hydrology, hydrobiology, and hydrogeology is also required.

Admission to the program is determined by the applicant’s position on the ranking list, which is based on the sum of the final diploma grade and the average grade obtained during the studies.

Graduates of this program can work as specialists or managers responsible for water management and water-related environments. They may be employed by institutions such as:

• water supply and sewage companies
• managers of water reservoirs
• local government administration units
• non-governmental organizations.
